2 April 2017 – The Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) organised its second autism run last Sunday in conjunction with the World Autism Awareness Day.
KAA aims to create awareness and reach out to the public especially parents to accept autistic children in the society while raising funds for their educational and training programme.
The run was flagged-off by Kuching City South Mayor, Dato James Chan and KAA’s President, Dr. Yao Sik Chi at 6.30am with more than 2,000 participants taking off to run the 3km and 7km course. Seen running among the group were families with autistic children and 100 CMS employees. Ms Christina of Construction & Roads Maintenance Division, who turned up to record CMS employees’ attendance, was greeted by Mayor Dato James Chan when he saw her holding a placard for the Group. The Mayor thanked CMS for their participation and support.
The programme ended with lucky draws and the winners walked away with prizes such as branded shoes, shopping vouchers, hotel vouchers, airline tickets and many more.
CMS contributed RM5,000 to Kuching Autistic Association.
