The Green World 2.0 Night Ride and The Spring’s Live Active Run were the last activities held in Kuching before the Muslim’s fasting month of Syawal. The 33km bicycle ride on 4 June 2016 was organised by Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 to raise funds for the school. With lights blinking beautifully at night, participants cycled towards the old DUN Building at Petra Jaya and went past Borneo Convention Centre Kuching to return to the school where they were given some refreshment, finisher medal and a chance at their lucky draw prizes.
On the following day, runners gathered at tHe Spring Shopping Mall to join their annual Live Active Run. This was an opportunity to burn off calories consumed during the Gawai Festive holiday. Some say, it was a chance eat more, others did it for the medals. Whatever the reason, the goal is to ‘do good’ for your body, to eat well, stay fit and be healthy.
CMS employees joined Group Managing Director, Dato’ Richard Curtis to run the shorter 5km route and 10km route in town. Other seasoned runners ran the half marathon to Petra Jaya and back to the cheering crowd at tHe Spring.
